JMIF visit to Thailand
JMIF organized and held the research-mission tour in Thailand from November 17-19 with the cooperation of NIMT. The tour is the first "local meet-up and disband" style conducted by JMIF.
The total of 16 people including subsidiary staff members in Thailand participated in the tour. The delegation visited NIMT (National Institute of Metrology, (Thailand), Narimune Techno Engineering (Thailand) Co., Ltd., SMC (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Department of Internal Trade (DIT), Ministry of Commerce, School of Integrated Innovative Technology (SIITec)/King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and METALEX exhibition.
The objective of the visit is to promote the ICW, as well as to discuss and learn about the latest technologies and development of the organization and companies.
At NIMT, after the introduction of NIMT, the delegation visited some laboratories including length, mass, temperature and robotics. JMIF made a presentation about the ICW and asked NIMT for cooperation to presentations and participation of the ICW.

At Narimune Techno Engineering, participants learned about innovative activities of the company, the reverse engineering technology, in particular.


On the 18th, the delegation visited a factory and technical center of SMC Thailand, one of SMC Group's overseas subsidiaries. SMC is a comprehensive manufacturer of automatic control equipment and the world's largest manufacturer of pneumatic components. The company specializes in pneumatic control engineering to support industrial automation and labor saving across a wide range of industries and equipment.
The delegation learned that advanced system the company has developed and observed the technical center which has been used for education of users.

On the 19th, at the DIT, Mr. Tanaka, Chair of ICW Organizing Committee and Dr. Takatsuji, an executive director of JMIF had a brief meeting with Dr. Tapphinyo Koatnon, Director of Division of weights and Measures and other members of the division and discussed the ICW. Mr. Tanaka asked for participation in the event.

At King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, the delegation visited the SIITec (School of Integrated Innovative Technology) and observed the activities of the school, using digital technology and robotics. JMIF gave a presentation on ICW and told Dr. Kamol Wasapinyokul that they would like to invite one of their students to be a poster presenter at ICW.

The last visit, METALEX, is the ASEAN's No.1 machine tools and metalworking exhibition, taken place at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC).
After the exhibition tour, the delegation dismissed.
The trip to Bangkok was subsidized by JKA through its promotion funds from KEIRIN RACE.
